A Delay, Two Toddlers & A Forest Cafe That Saved the Day

Janice and Enzo had everything planned down to the minute.

Their two-year-old twins, Mike and Amy, were finally winding down after a fun, sun-soaked vacation in South Goa. The bags were packed, the hotel checked out of, and they were on their way to Dabolim Airport, ready to catch their afternoon flight back home.

And then came the text.

“Flight delayed by 5 hours.”

For a couple traveling with toddlers, it was nothing short of a mini crisis. Janice looked at the clock. It was barely 11 AM. Keeping two active two-year-olds occupied and fed—without naps—in an airport for five hours? That was a parenting test they weren’t ready to take.

One Quick Search. One Unexpected Gem.
As Enzo scrolled frantically through Google for “family-friendly cafes near Dabolim,” one name kept showing up again and again—Cafe Chai Coffee.

The reviews mentioned lush greenery, comforting food, clean restrooms, and most importantly: space to breathe.

And so, with a “Let’s just try it”, they turned off the highway near Verna and followed a winding trail through trees and calmness.

Forest Calm Meets Family Comfort
From the moment they entered Cafe Chai Coffee, everything began to feel lighter. The forest cafe in Goa wasn’t just a place to eat—it was a sanctuary.

There were no harsh lights or noisy crowds. Just birdsong, cozy chairs, and a calming Bohemian vibe. The twins immediately found joy chasing butterflies in the garden patio while Janice and Enzo sat down for the first real break of the day.

The Continental and Asian menu made things even easier. Mike devoured a cheesy grilled sandwich while Amy happily munched on soft idli bites and banana pieces. Enzo couldn’t stop raving about the spicy Thai curry, and Janice sipped slowly on a rose latte, finally exhaling.

Kindness, Coffee & A Little Bit of Magic
What touched them most, though, wasn’t just the food or the setting. It was the thoughtfulness.

The staff brought over extra tissues, helped set up a toddler-friendly seating corner, and even surprised the twins with paper cups of warm milk with a drizzle of honey.

By the time their flight was finally ready for boarding, Janice whispered,
"I’m glad the flight got delayed."

A New Kind of Recommendation
Enzo left a glowing review that evening, calling Cafe Chai Coffee:
“The best family restaurant in Goa.”

And when friends asked how they survived a five-hour flight delay with toddlers, they didn’t say airport lounge or kids’ tablets.

They said:
"Cafe Chai Coffee—our forest detour that became the best part of the day."
